Correction: Student injury at Miller, not Hernandez
A story in Wednesday’s edition concerning the stabbing of a SMCISD student did not occur at Hernandez Intermediate School but at Miller Jr. High.District spokeswoman Iris Campbell said this morning that the 14-year-old boy injured when stabbed with a ball point pen through “several layers of clothing” was only slightly injured.The 14-year-old boy suspected of inflicting the injury “went through the process as described in the school code of contact,” and has been placed in the district’s alternative program Rebound. The boy’s parents were also contacted.We regret our error and any misunderstanding it caused.
